Sixteen pieces presented together as an installation at the Arte Forlí Contemporanea exhibition in 1990 and in a smaller ensemble of seven at 4cento in Milan in 2014. Together with a motto from one of the seven sages of Greece, each piece has a hidden mechanism to make the head gently rock on the pillow. They are a reflection on people’s lack of wisdom and common sense.

Lucky Mascots

Romans believed that their homes should be shielded from negative spells.
Lares were guardian deities, believed to protect and positively influence people and all that happened within the boundaries of their house.
Taking after this concept, Lucky Mascots are the modern version of this ancient pagan tradition with a contemporary playful twist.
They protect people, their domestic and work environment. Their presence creates a magic circle, a protective bubble, an unbreachable barrier to keep negativity at bay like the most powerful of talismans.
